Description
Palm jaggery, also known as palm sugar or palm gur, is a natural sweetener derived from the sap of various species of palm trees. Unlike regular jaggery, which is made from sugarcane, palm jaggery is obtained through a traditional process where the sap is extracted, boiled, and concentrated to form a thick, dark-colored paste. It retains more nutrients than refined sugar and regular jaggery, containing minerals like iron, magnesium, and potassium. Palm jaggery is valued for its distinct caramel-like flavor and is often used in desserts, beverages, and traditional medicines in many Asian and African countries.
